Golf Day April 2009

26 April 2009 11:30

We approached Friday 24th April with trepidation! The weather didn't look good, numbers were down, credit crunch!! We didn't need to worry - as usual everyone and everything came up trumps. An early start and glorious weather. Everyone turned up at Milford Golf Club with smiles and anticipation. Coffee and bacon rolls were devoured eagerly. Golf balls checked (round would be good) gloves peeled out of golf bags. Practice swings and practice putts and we were off. I say we - I was chief photographer and supporter. The course looked wonderful and the sun shone. The organisation was superb and we must thank Milford for all their help. There was a mixture of handicaps - large tummies, smokers coughs and injuries to name a few, but all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Gradually they trickled back to the club house and made their way to the bar and restaurant where all ate a much needed late lunch. Prizes were distributed. Nearest the pin, longest drive, booby prize and of course over all winner, second and third. Those that missed the par threes had to pay up too! Many thanks to Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Wilton once again for their kind donation of a prize and also Milford Golf Club for their donation too. In all over £470.00 profit was made. Thank you everyone for making yet another Anna's Room charity day thoroughly enjoyable - and yes to answer your question their will definitely be another one! Watch this space.
