Christmas has been busy once again.
Our charity Christmas cards have sold very well again this year. Thanks to all of you that bought them and therefore supported Anna's Room. The Christmas Draw was popular too.
First Prize, donated by Pennyhill Park Hotel - a luxury Spa Day for two, was won by John French of Winchester - enjoy!
Second Prize, donated by Val Lenihan, Theatre Tokens, was won by Paul Price of D Young & Co. He very kindly donated this prize to Anna who loves watching musicals. Thank you for your generosity.
Third Prize, donated by Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Wilton, a beautiful luxury hamper, was won by Margi and Tom Everington. This is being consumed whilst on holiday in Wales!
The two other prizes, donated by Pam and Pete and Anna's Room were won by Alison Dugdale (Stanley Graveson Ward) and Susan Maxey (SALT Victoria House)
Thank you to all our supporters and for all your generous donations.
On the two coldest December Saturdays, several of us wrapped up in layers of clothing and set up our Christmas tree once again at Southampton General Hospital to sell wishes to be hung on the tree. Our first helpers were Sue and Cognac, her PAT dog. They attracted a lot of people to make Christmas wishes. Many poignant wishes were made and many ever hopeful that Father Christmas would be kind again this year.We listened to lots of stories and were able to empathise. Anna's friends happily persuaded people to donate and handed out sweets to all and sundry. We had a good time and made £343.2p profit. Thank you all.
Finally, our local newsagent in Alresford asked for a collection box to put by their till. It was full by Christmas and they now have another empty one to fill agian!! There was £20.05p in the first box - many thanks to one and all we really do appreciate every penny.
Happy New Year to you all and please don't stop supporting us - 2010 is going to be a very exciting year for Anna's Room |
