Car Boot Sale - Sunday 20th September

28 September 2009 05:51

Kirsty and Dan decided that we had collected enough donated items to have a car boot sale. We were asked to help and happily agreed. Friday evening was spent delivering tables, bags of goodies and eating a take-away!! On Sunday Kirsty and Dan were up at the crack of dawn and drove to Farnborough (a multi-story car park) to set up the tables. Apparently begore the back of the car was even open dealers were round them like vultures. Looked promising. We were allowed a 'lie in' - obviously thought at our age sleep is important. How right they were!! Eventually the public are allowed in and the real fun started. This car boot is huge. Set over the whole of the car park. The first hour was busy and much haggling took place. We had lunch and then it slowly became quieter and by now we were almost happy to give things away. Almost but not quite! But it was fun and we enjoyed ourselves and we raised a very creditable £166.36p.
Thanks Kirsty and Dan for giving up a very precious free Sunday.
